Hi CFGB Community –

This literally just happened organically – so I want to share this with you now — sorry for such a short notice on this.

CFGB Community – If you like to eat food and socialize with the fine members of this community – this announcement is for you:

On Saturday – Impromptu Pot Lock – and CFGB Get Together
12 Noon – 3 PM

There have been so many new faces and the community s growing – thought it would be great to provide lots of opportunities for CFGB to get together.

I’m bringing out the grill and a bag of charcoal. Tony said something about bringing out some flank steaks to grill. I’l through something in the crock pot to bring, too.

You are invited! Bring anything to share – or just bring yourself. We would love to see you.

If you can’t make this one – we will organize more – and would like to hear your suggestions on other ways that we can share this great community with one another.

This event is coincident with the CFGB Competitor round table INTENTIONALLY. I have to share this story with you. I remember back in the Spring of 2014 going out to a local CrossFit competition — The 2014 Mid-Atlantic Affiliate Challenge. A dozen or so of the CFGB trainers and CFGB community went together to support the CFGB Team, set-up a tent for shade, brought folding chairs, several coolers filled with ice and refreshing drinks, food, recovery products, various mobility tools, and a whole lot of good spirit. It was so much fun hanging out with everyone – supporting the team, sharing stories, eating “recovery” foods – like smores and pop-tarts, treating sore muscles, and laughing. There a photo we have hanging in the gym over by the water fountain — sometimes the teens will ask if that is me in the photo. It isn’t In fact, it is Alex — one of the members during the MAAC competition in 2014. That was such a pivotal moment for me. Alex was stuggling with the shoulder to overhead. All of the other teams had finished. The WHOLE sports complex was cheering for Alex — all he had to do was finish 12 shoulder to overhead. If you get a chance to look at the photo the next time you are at the gym, look at everyone’s eyes. They are all watching and supporting that one athlete. LOVED IT. So glad the event photographer captured it.

Well, anyway – that is the CFGB Competitive Community Spirit – right there in that picture. I hope to bring that back – and to that end – I would like to start with these little community get together’s. So, regardless of whether you can make it to this one – or one or more in the future. I just want to let you know that you are invited and I am proud to have you in our community.

Best,

Bob
