I’ve actually lived in Maryland my entire life. I’m Baltimore born and raised—I’m so Baltimore that I actually pronounce it like “Baldamore”. I might slightly cringe when I hear someone fully pronounce the T.
Q: If you were out with a group of your best friends — the people closest to you — how would they describe you?
A: They would say that I’m a perfectionist and way too hard on myself, and also that I’m an extroverted introvert.
Q: Why are you excited about CrossFit? What does CrossFit mean to you?
A: CrossFit to me means a lot of things! I’ll try to keep it simple for the most part. I played sports throughout my entire childhood and also in college. I’ve really missed being a part of a competitive atmosphere. CrossFit offers the competition that I miss, and it’s definitely a team environment. I love pushing myself and also appreciate words of encouragement when I feel like I have nothing left to give. I’ve always struggled with my weight, but I lost a significant amount (around 65lbs) a few years ago. Like most weight loss stories, I’ve cycled through gaining and losing. I kind of got into a rut over the last year and stopped working out altogether. I knew I had to get back into lifting but going to a regular gym just wasn’t keeping me motivated. I know some people that do CrossFit and hearing them talk about the workouts, I would always think to myself, “I could never do any of that!” I figured I should stop doubting myself and try it out. I’m glad I did. CrossFit has been a great experience so far!
Q: Please feel free to add anything else that you would like people to know about you. One of my favorite questions is, what one thing do people generally *not* know about you, or would be surprised to know about you.
A: That I used to skateboard! (From age 11-19) and I’m not just talking I could ride on a board. I could really skate with the best of them. I wouldn’t hesitate when it came to jumping down a 15-20 flight of stairs. The biggest set I ever successfully ollied down was 18. Unfortunately, this was all before camera phones were really a thing, so all of my proof is lost somewhere in old photo bins.
Bonus Question: If You Could Live In A Book, TV Show Or Movie, What Would It Be?
A: I would definitely pick to live in the Golden Girls! That’s my all time favorite show
