I grew up in a one-stoplight town in Upstate New York. After graduation at age 18, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for a four-year tour as a Public Affairs Specialist. Once I separated from the Corps, I attended Old Dominion University for my undergrad studies. I then met my husband, Andrew, who was living in Maryland. We got engaged, and I re-located to the local area. We got hitched, got a dog, and I work at the Pentagon for the U.S. Army as a civil service employee in the communications field. I attend Syracuse University full time, and I will be graduating in December with an MS in Communications.
Question: If you were out with a group of your best friends — the people closest to you — how would they describe you?
A few adjectives my closest friends and family members would use to describe me are positive, outgoing, silly, and persistent.
Question: Why are you excited about CrossFit? What does CrossFit mean to you?
I am excited about CrossFit because it’s a different experience than any other type of workout I’ve done. It’s always challenging, never the same, and allows me to set personal goals for myself. The community I’ve found at CFGB has been incredibly supportive, and they are a huge reason I keep showing up.
Question: Please feel free to add anything else that you would like people to know about you. One of my favorite questions is, what one thing do people generally *not* know about you, or would be surprised to know about you.
I was hit by a school bus when I was 14.
Bonus Question: What’s The Craziest Thing You’ve Ever Done?
I ran a marathon.
