
Hello CFGB Family –
The time has come to do the right thing for the common good. While I had hoped to keep our doors open through this crisis, we now must close our PHYSICAL PLANT (Gym) based on the current orders of our local and state officials.
ALL CLASSES ARE CANCELED for TODAY and the FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
To be clear, CFGB does not have any confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 and we are not making this decision based on new information. We want to keep our people safe and contribute to the solution. It is simply the only right thing to do. While I am proud of the health and fitness within our community’s walls and the protection those efforts provide, that does not remove us from doing our part and providing for the good of the greater community.
The physical gym will remain closed for the foreseeable future, or until the local and state governments determine that the threat has been mitigated.

BUT CAN I WORKOUT?
More now than ever, we need to maintain and build upon the protective margin of fitness that we have worked hard to earn. Being part of the solution does not mean you that your health and fitness have to suffer. That being said, we will shoot your straight as always, and tell you that it will take additional work on your part during this time to stay diligent, committed, and motivated. And, we are here to help. Beginning immediately, the following options are now available to you
CFGB ONLINE COACHING
Everyone has a coach – Online coaching pairs you up with your very own CFGB coach. You and your coach meet weekly via Zoom or Skype – to review goals, establish an action plan, and provide custom workouts just for you. You will be receiving tons of accountability from your personal CFGB Coach – to keep you motivated, while continuing to increase the margin of your wellness to fitness.
We believe that taking care of our members during these times means so much more than just providing a set of “do it yourself” workouts. We value each member individually and want to show them how much we care by being with them every step of the way. We need to and we will be strong together.

Step 2 – Your coach will arrange to meet with you (phone, zoom, skype)
Step 3 – Train Hard. Eat Clean. Live Life.
COMMUNITY DAYS
We will plan and schedule small group outings, hikes, rucks, trail runs to provide additional opportunities to get out and enjoy our health and fitness. We will post additional details as these events are scheduled.
CFGB – DISINFECTED (IE HOME WORKOUTS)
We will be streaming videos of the daily group workout. The workouts will be available within SugarWOD, with a workout description and a link to the video. Your very own CFGB Coaching Team will be presenting the workout of the day – with demos. You will even get a chance to watch your favorite coaches perform the workout (with high intensity & functional movements). “Hey Tony, can we get a little lower in that squat?”
These daily workout videos will be available for you and your AT HOME CFGB Coach will be working with you to enhance your training – tailoring and supplementing your training possibly with additional workouts specifically for you and your goals. Your At Home coach will also help you to tailor the workouts to get the most of the equipment/items available to you.
CFGB NUTRITION CHALLENGE/RESET
We will kick off a CFGB Community-wide food challenge on MONDAY, MARCH 23rd. Details of the challenge will be released this week. Additional details will be posted on SugarWOD and the CFGB Community Page. Plan to spend this week/weekend preparing. You have the time.
COMMUNICATION
We will rely on SugarWOD for our daily communication with members. The announcements section immediately above the workout of the day will include links to information. We will also send the information out via email.
SICKNESS, WELLNESS, FITNESS
In CrossFit, we use the Sickness, Wellness, Fitness model to describe how daily efforts in fitness and nutrition move the needle to the Fitness side of the continuum. The model also describes how our efforts to move the needle as far to the right as possible gives us a “hedge” against Sickness. It describes how this buffer allows us to weather the storm when life events change our course. Maybe we fall back to Wellness, but we do not slide to Sickness.
Right now, we are each seeing this model play out. Take pride in the efforts you’ve put in the bank thus far, yet do not rest on your laurels, and step up to the challenge of committing to your health and fitness during this time to protect your needle and hold it to the right.
It’s time to expand the margins of our experience.
